Today we speak to Irish Catholic singer DANA. Her story begins in Northern Ireland, representing Ireland in the world-famous Eurovision contest. After winning this prestigious competition, her career carried her through both pop music and Catholic music, listening to the Lord's voice throughout each step. Her story is a decades-long testament to her spirituality and openness, and the music she has created to guide and inspire so many others. SHOW NOTES

Bio: DANA

I am Irish-Catholic recording artist, DANA, my career was launched onto the world stage as a teenager when I won the prestigious Eurovision Song Contest in 1970. I was the first winner for Ireland, beating out international stars such as Julio Iglesias. My deep faith led me into Catholic music ministry and the founding of DS Music Productions with my husband Damien. My music catalogue is filled with beautiful music such as "Lady of Knock," composed by my husband and I, and prayer CDs that have touched and changed many lives.

At World Youth Day 1993 in Denver, I sang a self-penned song called "We Are One Body" for His Holiness Pope St. John Paul II. The song has received worldwide acclaim. I also have several popular Rosary recordings with Fr. Kevin Scallon CM and Msgr. Eduardo Chávez, together we have brought this powerful prayer to people throughout the world. “The Rosary” set to music, was the first of its kind and is a multi-platinum album worldwide.
